Paediatric Continence
We provide Paediatric Continence services for young children for the management of bladder and bowel problems, as well as concerns around toileting.
Problems we may see in the paediatric population include:
Bedwetting (or also known as nocturnal enuresis)
Daytime incontinence/wetting
Faecal incontinence, faecal smearing
Constipation
Delayed toilet training
NDIS Assessments for Continence Product Funding
Paediatric continence appointments typically involve an in depth assessment with the child and their caregiver. Questions will usually be asked regarding the child's and families current concerns and symptoms, bladder and bowel health, general developmental milestones, diet and any other contributing factors.

Most physical assessments involve the use of a real time ultrasound machine being placed on the child's lower belly so the Physiotherapist can see the bladder, abdominal muscles and pelvic floor muscles.
Our Physiotherapists can work closely alongside your General Practitioner and any other allied health staff involved in the care of your child.
